THOU GOD SEEST ME!

Thursday January 21, 2010

Many times we wake up to the dullness of just another day and sometimes it is that when we wake we have the opportunity to be able to say what a wonderful day this is or that it is going to be. But how often do we realize as we wake for the day that "Thou God seest me".  We have just awoke from a night of deep sleep where our life was not controlled by our hand and yet have not considered that throughout the night our life was protected and sustained by the hand of the God of the universe. How special we are that He would care so much ----- as to care so much!!

Hagar said "Thou seeth me" but she also said "Have I also seen him?" While there is a question mark there I am not sure it was a question but rather a statement "Have I also here looked after him that seeth me!"

Gen 16:13
13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me? (KJV)

THE CHRISTMAS STORY

Today we again celebrate Christmas. Some will take the day as an opportunity to attend elaborate none religious celebrations. For some it will be a day of sports, some a day of family gatherings, and to others a day of preparation for the biggest sales day of the year. Some will celebrate the coming of Saint Necklace and Santa Clause. Others will celebrate the birth of a child in a far away country many years ago. Many will come together in songs and praise to give thanks to the God and creator of the universe for Himself in the form of His Son coming to live among His creatures as one of them for the purpose of saving His creatures from their sin.

Matthew 1:18-25
 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.  Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.  Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.  Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:  And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. (KJV)

How could The creator of the universe bring himself to surrender all and come as a child in the smallest of villages. Then to humble himself to be born in a feed trough in a stable.

Seems so odd but so filled with beautiful thought that this God and creator of the universe would pay a visit to Jacob in the land of  Ephratah and bless him there. It was there in  Bethlehem Ephratah that Jacob had buried Rachel his beloved wife who gave birth to these sons and then here to see Jacob bless his grand children the least and youngest first in this place where years later God himself would become man in the form of a child to fulfill the historic promises at this very place. Beth-lehem Ephratah or, Beth-lehem Judah; so called to distinguish it from Beth-lehem in Zebulun. It is a few miles southwest of Jerusalem. Beth-lehem means "the house of bread"; Ephratah means "fruitful": both names referring to the fertility of the region.

All of history coming to this point and place in time to deliver a child in a cradle to begin His journey to the Cross on Calvary.

Mic 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Years later a man walking through the territory, in the villages and hearing the music being echoed across the hills and valleys saw in his spirit the story of Christmas in

O little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee to-night.

For Christ is born of Mary,
And gathered all above,
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love.
O morning stars, together
Proclaim the holy birth!
And praises sing to God the King,
And peace to men on earth.

How silently, oh how silently,
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of his heaven.
No ear may hear his coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him, still
The dear Christ enters in.

Where children pure and happy
Pray to the blessed Child,
Where misery cries out to thee,
Son of the mother mild;
Where charity stands watching
And faith holds wide the door,
The dark night wakes, the glory breaks,
And Christmas comes once more.

O holy Child of Bethlehem!
Descend to us, we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in,
Be born in us to-day.
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us,
Our Lord Emmanuel!

 The Christmas season is about the birth of the salvation of the world. It is a Christian religious celebration. It not just another marketing opportunity although most businesses reap huge profits from the activities this time celebration brings.  Beth-lehem means "the house of bread"; Ephratah means "fruitful": both names referring to the fertility of the region and thus that fertility and fruitfulness even flows through to those who acknowledge that today is the day that God visited mankind to began the process of redemption.

WONDERFUL NEWS!

Merry Christmas to one and all. May the truth of Christmas bring you close to Him throughout this season of celebration.

Psalm 111:10

1). The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (KJV)

Proverbs 9:10

10). The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (KJV)

Proverbs 10:23

23). It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom. (KJV)

Psalms 147:1-20
1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD. (KJV)

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) National Day of Prayer

DATE/TIME: (July 7, 2009, 7:00A.M. TO 7:00P.M.)

WHERE: Your Choice

WHO: Everyone who has been affected by MS. This includes you, your family and friends.

What: Everyone pray the same prayer at the same time asking God for healing and deliverance. I cannot give you the words to say. Just allow your heart to speak to God about delivering us from MS. Say the things you feel when you are alone and hurting. Prayer is the key to the heart of God.

Why: Prayer is actively acknowledging God as the source of all power and trusting that His answers, whether expected or unexpected, will accomplish greater things. (Isaiah 46:9-10)

Background: God has led me to write this request to you. Myself and over 400,000 Americans suffer with MS. I feel each and everyone of one us are praying for the Lord to heal us. I believe that God has heard our cries. I believe we are standing at the door of a miracle. However, I feel that there are three things that the Holy Spirit is leading us to do

1) Unite in Collective Prayer - Prayer is actively acknowledging God as the source of all power and trusting that His answers, whether expected or unexpected, will accomplish greater things. (Isaiah 46:9-10). 1 Samuel 9:16 states that God said that I have seen the suffering of my people, and I have listened to their cry. In Numbers 14:22. The people united with one voice. Therefore, I am asking us to unite in one voice. Remember "The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power".

Believe, - (Proverbs 3:5) says that "We must trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path. When we pray we must believe that God is able to answer our prayers. Remember that God's name for healing is Jehovah Rapheka. Numbers 23:19 says that God is not a human being, and he will not lie. He is not a human, and He does not change His mind. We must erase all doubt from our minds and heart, believing that He is the God that heals.

3) Give thanks - This day of prayer is not only to ask God to heal us but to give thanks for His divine mercy. Yes, I did say thanks. Because if we are praying and believing in our Great and Awesome God, it is already done and we can give thanks. Let's praise God now for our healing: don't wait until you are healed. Exodus 15 states that when the Children of Israel were suffering in Egypt, they united and cried out to God. The Bible further states that the Israelites rejoiced to see God deliver them from the Egyptians. The Bible tells us that over 600,000 men were delivered in one day.

Therefore, I am asking that on July 7, 2009, we cry out with one voice. This will be our National Day of Prayer. One of God's names is Jehovah Jireh which means the Lord will provide. In Genesis 22:13 Abraham says that ....The Lord provides. Even today people say. "On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided. God still provides miracles today. For me, I will be fasting and praying. I encourage others to do the same. However, if you cannot fast and pray it is okay. The key to this miracle is to unite in prayer, believe and give thanks.

Doctors and scientist have been working diligently to heal us. They have invented wonderful treatments. However, we are not looking for another treatment but for deliverance. Therefore, I propose we come before the Lord at the same time with one voice. I ask that you encourage your family and friends to partake in this prayer circle. I know that all our family and friends have been affected by this disease. Be encouraged and remember Jesus stated that if you ask anything in His name it will be done.

Be Blessed

Did you know that the ACLU has filed a suit to have all military cross-shaped headstones removed and another suit to end prayer from the military completely. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus' name in prayer thanks to the retched ACLU and our new administration.
