Dear Family:
Each day I receive a number of prayer requests. All are seeking some
form of healing. Some need financial healing, some physical and some
spiritual. The answer is the same for all who need and want healing.
When the children of Israel were fleeing from the Egyptians they became
thirsty and tired and began to complain to Moses. Bear in mind their
deliverance was two-fold. They had been slaves in Egypt which was
symbolic of the bondage to sin. God had delivered them from this
physical bondage and was working to deliver them spiritually but few
recognized His purpose. The people began to be bitten by a fiery serpent
(symbolic of satan and sin). God then told Moses, "Make a fiery serpent,
and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when
he looks at it, shall live."
Num 21:8-9 Then the LORD said to
Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that
everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live."So Moses made a
bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had
bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived. (NKJ)
This symbol has continued throughout history as the symbol of healing.
It is on the lapel of every doctor and nurse in every hospital and is
symbolic of Christ's victory over satan, sin, sickness and death. While
God has given the gift of healing to the hands of many, the real healing
comes only when we look to Christ. And, the healing that comes to us is
through the finished work of the cross. It is Christ who heals and is
appropriated through the faith of both those seeking healing and those
who offer up prayer on their behalf.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(NKJ)
It is the faith that brings us into submission with God. We pray for
God's will to be done. Well, what is Gods will? It is that all will come
to the knowledge of Christ and God's love that brought about what Christ
has done. When we come to that realization then God's purpose for our
future is certain. When our mission is over here we go to be with Him in
service and adoration to Him forever. Our mission here or there is the
same, to serve and bring adoration to Him. If we are not doing that,
then we are not subject to His promise and are not fulfilling His will
for our lives. Does this mean we must be preachers, evangelists or
missionaries? Yes, but not in the sense we typically think of. We are
here to be His arms, legs and mouth to the world. We serve Him when we
lovingly serve mankind with the talents He has given us.
I'm listening to the radio station, "Praise until dawn." I've put a link
at the bottom. The song now playing is, "Jesus your name is holy; Jesus
your name power, Jesus your name is life."
That is the answer to all mankind's problems. His name is power to heal
all our sicknesses, his name is holy to purify us from sin and his name
is life to give us eternal life beginning now, not tomorrow or next week
or after we die. It begins now. All we have to do is ask for these
things in prayer believing that He is who He says He is and will do what
He says He will do. You do not have to understand how it can be, you
only have to accept by faith that it will be. I encourage you right now
to make the decision to make Christ your Christ.
Pray with me now, "Dear Lord Jesus, I do want you to be my
Lord and savior, I want to know you in the personal way that you and your
father desired for all mankind in the beginning, and I now in the only way I know how,
ask you to come into my life and be my savior, Lord and friend". Amen
Listen to me now --- you have just come alive spiritually. You may or
may not feel any different from a minute ago. But when you prayed that
prayer God heard you and made you His child and nothing can ever take
you away from Him anymore than anyone can make you no longer the child
of your father and mother.
God loves you and so do I.
